Reinhard Dammann has had unrivalled expertise for some 30 years.

He has conducted the main cross border insolvency proceedings and restructuring of major groups (Sasea, Eurotunnel, Thompson Technicolor, Nortel, Saur, CGG, Rallye, Casino, Orpéa etc.).

He pleaded the Nortel case before the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.

Recently, Reinhard Dammann was acting as an expert witness before the High Court in London in the Comexposium matter.

He advised Réside Études in connection with the preparation of 32 safeguard plans in an amount of 400 million euros, conceiving a new trust scheme (fiducie-gestion).

In particular, Reinhard Dammann distinguishes himself by managing highly complex cross-border litigation and ICC arbitration proceedings involving billions of dollars. 

International Organisations

For more than fifteen years, Reinhard Dammann has been an expert for governments and international organisations. He participated in the drafting of the new Insolvency Regulation (EU) 848/2015 of 20 May 2015 and the Restructuring Directive (EU) 2019/1023 of 20 June 2019.

He is an expert for the World Bank in advising governments on the reform of their insolvency law. In particular, we wrote the new Insolvency law of Ethiopia and is presently advising the World Bank in connection with the insolvency law reform of Vietnam.

He represents the Foundation for Continental Law at the United Nations UNCITRAL working group V sessions in New York and Vienna on the drafting of model laws on cross-border insolvency proceedings.
